Approach
See the Getting There section of the main page to get to the trail. Make sure you follow the directions to the climbers path to the normal route and don't go too far to the main rock climbing area.
Route Description
From the drain pipe, take the climbers path north. It switchbacks up to skirt the left side of
this gully with the moss-covered slabs. The trail then continues trending west (left) and goes under and left of
this second gully which you probably won't even see due to the trees. Ignore it, unless you want to climb unprotectable 4th class junk (although I think this is supposed to be rated Class 3). Continue around left until you reach
this point around the corner. Climb up to the tree in the right of this photo and then traverse left into the rocky notch gully in the center of that photo. Climb 3rd class rock until you reach easy Class 2 grassy slopes. Ascend those slopes up to the ridge and hike right (east) along the ridge on the right (south) side of the ridge. When you reach about the halfway point on the ridge you will come to a small pinnacle that you must flip over to the north side and descend about 20 feet to reach a small saddle. Then just follow the footpath over to the true summit.
Descend the same way. Elevation gain is about 1000 feet within about 1 mile.
Note-Options are to take the second gully or the ridge separating the normal route gully and that second gully. They are both supposed to be Class 3 but I make no promises about that accuracy.
Essential Gear
None needed.
