Approach

This is the easiest route to Mount Conness, but it involves a long aproach. From Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park, take the trail to Dog Lake, then take a branch to Young Lakes. The trail distance is about 8 miles.

Route Description

From Young Lakes, Mount Conness's big vertical southwest wall is prominent in the north. Ascend the long, broad slope to the right of the big wall, which leads all the way to the summit plateau. Once on the summit plateau, follow the thin ridge leading northwest to the summit, passing through some exposed narrow ledges on the left side.

Essential Gear

None in summer.
