Rosebay Willowherb

Rosebay Willowherb (Epilobium angustifolium syn. Chamerion angustifolium) is up to 120 cm high common perennial plant of Gorski Kotar. It purple flowers are easy to spot next to the woods and forrest roads, but never inside the woods as this plant really loves and needs open space and plenty of light. Locally known as Uskolisni kiprej, Roseway Willowherb flowers from June to August, its violet or rose to purple flowers opening gradually from the base of the raceme with the four petals slightly notched.
