"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Route Climbed: Normal route, crossed Rio ColoradoThe ranger did not allow climbing due to high winds, but I sneaked up and met four others on the mountain. The winds gusted to 90 km/hr, but died down around 11:00. The clouds also lifted, revealing the awesome light-blue acid lake deep in the crater. Near-vertical slopes prevent reaching the lake shore, but fumeroles and floating sulphur scum can be seen from above. A sign warns not to stay more than 15 minutes due to toxic volcanic gases.
