Wow!

Almost lost for words Moosey!

What a trip. What a girl!

And a great and very well written trip report. You sure put a lot of effort into both the trip and finding the words and photos to share it with us. Many thanks.

Bryan

PS. I think Graham was more thinking along the lines of something with a sheep in his recipe! LOL!

Re: Wow!

Thanks, Bryan! I got passed up by a fisherman on my way out, and he asked, "Did you have fun?" I had to pause and think for a second, but it was a resounding, YES!!

Hehe... you boys and your sheep... ;-)

Doors song

I thought this TR would be about the Doors song, "Riders on the Storm."

So Lucky to see

Laura...Just got done reading and had to log in to post here. I have missed your reports and this one again took me away for a short time! I always sense your enjoyment and passion for being out there with your words! It must be a totally different feel being out there with the snow..I can just imagine how beautiful it was to see that part of the Sierra covered in snow! How nice you had a few nights in the safety of that granite overhang and the Muir Hut! Marmots and Pikas are still cozy under all that snow..Thank you sharing...lovely report and pictures!

Re: So Lucky to see

Thanks so much, Anita! Great to hear from you. Keep an eye here and on my blog for more adventures! And yes, being back in the EVO Basin, my favorite place in the Sierra, was especially amazing with all the snow. What an honor to be sure!

I'll have some more please

Laura,
Very inspiring and motivating. Your writing got me feeling the intensity of the experience. When I got to the end of your TR I found myself wishing there was more to read. I guess I'll have to get my own behind out there.

Re: I'll have some more please

Thanks so much for the kind words, Rick! Funny, I felt I had cut the story a little short but I didn't want to be accused of long-windedness (as is usually the case!). Really glad you enjoyed the story!

Nice!

Seirra's have gotten alot of snow this year haven't they? Planning on heading there for some rock at the end of July. Hopefully snow won't be a hinderence!

Thanks for the trip report. Great pictures and well written!

ll

Laura,

I remember first reading about your exploits when I was a freshman in college (over four years ago now!). Since then, I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed reading about your progressively more technical and diverse exploits. I had my own first mountaineering trip on Whitney 4.5 years ago in late December, so in some ways it's felt like we've been growing and getting more experienced in parallel. Hopefully I'll run into you in the Sierra at some point! I think I may have seen you at the Portal after I came down from Russell last summer, but I was so bleh and tired that I just went to sleep.

Great write-up =D

Re: ll

Thanks, Hamik! I've seen your name everywhere as well: you skied the High Route this year, yes? Let me know when you head up this way! Thanks for reading and the support, and if you'd like, let's get after something (I'd say this summer but looks like you're a year-round person, too!). All the best, L

Never resist

I say that you should never resist the Siren's call of the Evolution Basin. Nice little trip. I did it the other way 'round back about 20 years ago - when I was your age!

Re: Never resist

Thanks, SLR! I agree: I've headed back to EVO every year since my first trip there in '08 (I know, I haven't been doing this for very long), but the biggest thrill this time was having the entire place to myself!
