A nice scramble
Reward Peak makes for an enjoyable outing when visiting the Upper Redfish Lakes/Kathryn Lake basin. As you make your way up the basin towards the peak you will see an obvious route along the NE ridge that will provide a terrific view of Kathryn and this will lead you to the top. Nice views are yours from the summit.

Rewarding views
Finally got my Reward, after many years on my bucket list.
Backpacked into Upper Redfish lakes via Redfish Creek.
Next day, walked the strip of land between the two lakes, up the NE drainage and gained the lower saddle with amazing views. A short steep climb and bit of a scramble next, and we were on top. One of the best 360 degree view points in the Sawtooths! Afterwards, dropped into Lake Kathryn and its azure blue waters. Pretty special place.

From Reward Saddle
A quick detour from the saddle as we were headed from Blue Rock Lake to Lake Kathryn. Took a minute to reach the saddle from Packrat Lake, but we were handsomely rewarded for our efforts.

Rewarding
Spent the day going cross-country from Bead Lakes to Oreamnos Lake, then up to Packrat Lake. Pretty steep climb in our big packs to reach the saddle north of Reward. I couldn’t resist scrambling up to the summit. The views make for a worthwhile climb if you’re in the area. Here's a trip report with photos.
