That's been sitting there since 1872a nice piece of Wasatch history. There was no water for the boiler at Prince of Wales so they had another steam engine operating a pump to deliver the water from springs in upper Grizzly - you can see that engine too just below Twin lakes pass.
And while we are at it: Get well Joe!

Re: That's been sitting there since 1872Is your cache still up there? I looked for it today (without GPS).

Re: That's been sitting there since 1872You don't need a GPS cuz you can see this boiler from like quarter mile way, but you would need a description where exactly to look when you get close ... did you know what nook to check?
I have another little geocache just down the slope at Wellington BTW, which fell into the boiler. Need like a wire or coat hanger to hook it, hopefully it still has a lanyard attached. But I haven't got there yet, and the winter is closing in...

Re: That's been sitting there since 1872Yeah I went up to the mine on an impulse so I did not take any description of the cache hide with me, but I knew you had one there. I checked in several nooks but ran out of time and had to get going.
