Really red!Amazing mountain and a beautiful contrast with green.
But well... after all, in spanish, colorado = red (curious!).
Why is the color? Ferrous mineral?

Re: Really red!There is indeed high iron (ferrous) content, and it also is rich in other minerals. Much of the area near Red Mountain Pass was heavily mined and many mines are preserved.
