Ram of Red Rocks

Ram of Red Rocks

This Bighorn Sheep Ram was standing on guard, while the other six rams were grazing down below. Photographed below Bridge Point in Red Rocks, Nevada in April 2007. Bighorns can live from 10 to 15 years. In Red Rocks, Rams usually form small groups of 5-10 individuals, but it is not uncommon to see occassional large gathering of 30-100 individuals. Ewes with young lambs form separate herds.

Aaaaaaaah !

I don't know how I missed seeing this guy!
That's truly incredible, Anya ... but, I have a question. When you are OUT capturing flora and fauna with your camera, WHERE is the man with the beard??? You know ... Henry! Is he up on top of a rock standing guard???
Henry must be a really fine man ... I would like to meet him in person. Cheers, Anya!!!

Re: Aaaaaaaah !

Thanks for the vote Larry. Henry and I have a deal that whoever spots wildlife first while we are hiking, he or she gets to try to approach/meet the animals and take their photos first.
Hope you enjoying a great first day of the new year! Cheers!
