Smoked Potato
I hiked up Bodie on 7-27-18, but didn't have time for Potato. This time I climbed Potato and just waved at Bodie. A warm summer morning, actually not too smoky.

Almost drive ups
After Patterson and Wheeler in the am. Drove almost all the way to each of these peaks. Doing some shameless peakbagging.
My wife and I decided to visit de Bodie gost town. But wait, there is more! Thanks to the great page these guys created recently, we drove on an SUV all the way to the bottom of Bodie Mountain. Hiked both peaks in two hours car to car, on a teribile wind. Fun though.

Potato and Bodie with some hail
Got hailed on atop Potato Peak, but managed to wait out the weather and topped Bodie Mountain as well.
On the way to Mammoth, stopped off to bag Potato and Bodie, then hiked Mammoth Mountain later in the afternoon. Easy peaks, the gravel road is fine for 2wd leading to about 2 miles from each peak.

4x4 Road
After a visit to Bodie SP, took the dirt 4x4 road up Bodie Mountain and then over to Potato Peak, not much elevation gain left to summit both peaks. Great views. Headed down the north side of Potato Peak and on out to Bridgeport. Lots of cool mining remains in the area.

From Rough Creek
A small young black bear was romping around through the brush below the peak!
