Description

I'll soon be returning to the Andes for a two month long ski touring trip from early September to early November.

My plan is to start with a few weeks in the Bariloche region, warming up in the steep couloirs around Refugio Frey and San Martin.

Then I'll start heading north and skiing some of the classic volcanoes on the way ( possibly including: Antuco, Lanin, Llaima, Lonquimay, Chillan, Chosuenco).

By early October I plan to be in the Cordon del Plata zone near Mendoza where I hope to make some turns from the summit of Rincon, Stepanek, Adolfo Calle, Vallecitos and maybe even Plata itself.

Afterwards maybe head over the border to Cajon del Maipo in Chile for some more higher altitude skiing on Volcan San Jose and maybe Marmolejo.

My plans are obviously flexible according to what the conditions are like and if you have some particular goals then I'm happy to accomodate.

I like to be as self sufficient as possible in the mountains, no guides.

Interested in teaming up for a portion of the trip? email me at atira@hotmail.com

"...we'd splurge and buy damaged cans of cat food. We'd get them for a dime apiece, and stock up for the entire summer... it was the fancy kind of cat food , the tuna flavored stuff. I mean, I'm not the kind of person who would eat dog food or anything."   --Yvon Chouinard-
