Description

Hi!
I am looking for a partner for a ski descent of an over 6500m high peak in central Pamirs, Tajikistan. It is the highest unskied mountain in former USSR. I attempted the descent in 2009m, but had to abort due to a team member requiring evacuation. The mountain is remote, and accessed from the beautiful Bartang valley. I have friend there, whioch makes it logistically easy. Difficulty is about TD, with 50°+ . High-altitude experience preferred.
I live in Austria and Vancouver, and hope to be in Georgia (Caucasus) in May. I have done several ski descents from 5000-7000m peaks, among them two first descents in Pamirs (Lap Nazar) and Tien Shan (Pik Pobedy East). This would be my fourth Pamirs trip.

If interested, please send email.

Cheers,
Peter (www.sfu.ca/~psa37)

Hello Peter. This is Marcos Fernandez-Moya from Spain. I am the snowboarder that finally didn´t go with you to Shkhara. I hope you remember me. I have just seen your plan to go to Tajikistan and I would like to join you if it is possible. I can go there in August 2011. I would like to study the mountain you want to climb but I couldn´t find Bartang Valley in Google Earth, so please give me some more data about the mountain you want to climb. Thank you for reading this. Marcos.
