fine page!. But I cannot understand what is special about the cross: there are hundreds of these crosses in the Val Gardena area as I realized last week. Unfortunately weather was too bad in the second half so I missed to climb Poessenecker ferrata and Piz Miara.
Thanks Mathias. What is so special? Maybe it's only me - I first saw Miara and the cross on a shot by J. Tappeiner with the cross displayed right in front of the Langkofel summit. It immediately tickled my imagination.

The carved figure of Jesus on the cross does kind of jump out at you. Interesting that so many European peaks have religeous symbols on top.
