Grand spectacle !

Ejnar ... do people really CLIMB these mountains? Seems like there would be some dramatic rockfalls in summer and avalanches in winter! Is there a climber's log kept up there? Thank you, Ejnar!

Yes, they do, but especially the Meije takes a good climber. It is considered the most difficult of the high Alpine peaks, and was the last to be climbed. The normal route is on the south face (this view is from the north), and is vertical rock much of the way. There probably is a summit book as on most more important Alpine peaks.
