Phipps Peak via Meeks Bay Trailhead. 9.5 miles and 3,150 elevation gain to the summit. Party of 4 including John Bremner. We camped at Stony Ridge Lake both nights (6.1miles from the trailhead). Weather was sunny and hot both days with lots of great lake swims along the way.

From Eagle Lakes
Followed trail past Velma Lakes, made side trip over to Middle Mountain then back to TYT, last few hundred feet up sandy slopes on Phipps. Decent down the "cross-country route from Eagle Lakes" was a nightmare from 7350 feet down to Eagle Lake, if you go this way be sure to stay out of the drainage area, the stream is fast, deep, and the brush is very thick.

Big day starting from Inspiration Point. Great route with lots of lakes along the way. Made a loop so finished last mile on Hwy 89. Highly recommend this route.

Eagle Falls
Nice afternoon trip up from Eagle Falls trailhead. Somehow managed to not see anyone after the trailhead though I'm sure others were out and about.
Went up the drainage before Eagle Lake and returned through the one above it.

Winter hike
Nice snowshoe up the west gully from Eagle Lake. Noticed some nice ice flows on a cliff band for future reference. The Lower Velma Lake was frozen to allow a straight shot to the Peak.

From Velma Lakes
Backpacked into Upper Velma Lake for memorial day weekend and dayhiked Phipps. The memory is fuzzy but I believe we approached from the western edge of Middle Velma and returned via the strip of land between Middle and Lower.

Eagle Falls/PCT/TYT
Up to the PCT from Emerald Bay and then up the TYT to the peak.
Mosquitoes mercifully seem to have all been killed by the freeze last week.
Not sure why this is on the OGUL but Jakes is not.

Eagle Lake
After hiking at the north end of the lake in the morning, I drove out to Emerald Bay to hike this one in the afternoon. No snow until after Eagle Lake, some trouble crossing the creek, needed the snowshoes from above 8,500ft. Trip Report
