fresh snow on approach up glacier, perfect on peaks. Me & big Dave hauled 2 young rookies to summit & back. Also soloed S face of Pico Austria (exposed), easy on N side of E & W ridges.

Route Climbed: Combination of Southeast Face Route and Normal Route Date Climbed: July 18, 2002  Sucess!

I partly climbed (solo) the Southeast Face approx. up to 50 mtrs. below the summit. A beautiful peak.

Fun place, the downclimb is the exciting part, and the climb down from Traija to get there.

I was there with a guided tour from Germany. In this "El nino"-year we had unusual conditions with very hard snow / pure ice. So ice screws for belaying were necessary at the steep sections.
