Seems that age is restricting me to 2 peaks a day, but what beautiful peaks! R seemed easy after Q but we had to wait for the next day to do S and T. Could not find the register on R . . . wonder if it is still there.

Brush Creek to Upper Slate Lake
It had been YEARS since I visited the Gores,e and I kicked myself in the ass for waiting so long! The views of Peak Q from R are just amazing - stout beast of a mountain! Dropped back down the valley and returned to camp for lather/rinse/repeat the next day! With Candace, Joe & John.
Climbed up grassy ledges/gullies to the ridge after an ascent of Peak Q. Hoped to go to S but the route wasn't looking good and didn't have time to drop to where I was supposed to, so instead climbed back over R and retreated to camp before the clouds got any smart ideas.
Route Climbed: Northwest Face Date Climbed: July of 2005
I was close to calling it a day after the ascent up Peak Q kicked my ass. I made a last second decision to climb Peak R with Colonelpyat and man...I'm glad I did. I enjoyed Peak R more than Q, plus the views up there are probably the best I have seen from a Gore Peak. The route is solid and fun as well. The summit log had been up there since 2002 and was left by Jennifer and Gerry Roach. It had 5 signatures-Jennifer and Gerry, Dan B, Dave C, Teresa G. I know it gets climbed by a few others, for whatever reason they didn't sign the register.
