Overview
Peak 12,192 is a nice summit approx 1/4 mi south of Hurd Peak
Getting There
Bishop Pass TH (South Lake) car-to-car, or camp at Treasure Lakes. It is an easy ~3mi hike from South Lake to the lowest Treasure Lake at 10,668'. There is good camping here.
NW Ridge Route
One option to climb this peak is to scramble up the NW Ridge from the lower Treasure Lakes. Start by walking south between the two lowest Treasure Lakes then move up and right onto the shallow, rounded NW Ridge. Follow this good quality ridge to a steep buttress which you can pass on the left. Stay on the ridge crest to the summit.
From the airy summit are strategic views of Cloudripper and Picture Puzzle to the east. Little Chocolate Peak is down below to the northeast.
In early season, crampons and an ice axe may be needed.
Descend back down the ridge.
