Dreams come and go
I spent a year getting all my gear together to hike the Pacific Crest Trail starting April 24,2014 at Mexico. Sent out a couple resupply boxes (#11) with 5 months of trail food along the trail and bought 6 pairs of hiking shoes beside spending thousands of dollars on super light gear ( base weight = 9 lbs.). Learned to use a water bottle to replace TP.After 200 miles in 7 days on the PCT, a text message said my 28 year old niece pasted away and her 5 kids what to live with Uncle Billy.
I lost a dream to hike the PCT only to be over powered by the love of those kids. This lost was worth it a million times over.
Kids come first, aways, dreams come and go.
P.S. The kids love it when my resupply box full of food are mailed back; I HAVE NEVER SEEN FOOD DISAPPEAR SO FAST.
