The rap only needs one 70 meter rope

you can do it with a sixty if you bear really hard to the south off of the rappell point, but I would only recommend it to someone that has climbed this before, and knows what's up there. If you want to be safe, go with a light 70 meter single.

I agree. There are also now two rap stations, one with slings and the recently added bolted anchors put in place by the Exum Guides. This helps alleviate some of the congestion on the weekends by allowing multiple parties rap at once. The bolted anchors most definately require a 70m, they almost touch the bottom, (about 3-5 feet or so in the air.)

Upper Saddle Raps

You can use the southern rap station with 2 setups and one rope. In 2010, there were 3 setups: 1 to the south and 2 side-by-side at the main rap location. You can also climb down the Owen-Spalding and skip the rap if conditions are good. It's faster than waiting around at the busy rap station. http://wyomingwhiskey.blogspot.com/
