Tapered Wedges for crack security.

The original Rock was developed by Mark Vallance two decades ago. It has been subject to considerable revision since and now stands as another fine example of classic Wild Country Engineering.

The unique shape is engineered to take up the most stable position in any crack, the convex side locking firmly against the two 'feet' of the concave side, creating a stable triangulation of forces. Planar side tapers ensure stable side placements and allow you to 'turn-key' Rocks into pockets. Smoothly machined edges and corners, together with the use of carefully selected 6064 T6 aluminum extrusions ensure Rocks 'bed' easily into cracks, and can be easily 'cleaned'. From size 4 upwards, the next size can be obtained simply by turning the Rock through 90°.

Fell one time on granite. The rock was in the wide profile between two ears of granite-not very inspiring. Had a good Forrest Titon below. Peeled and the Rock held. Still can see the gouges in its narrow sides. Sure was happy about that one.

One the lightest made and still one of the stronger lines available. Just as easy to place as other brands. They have useful color coding on the loops and the numbers are large enough to read while they are hanging on your rack.

I really like my set and have been adding duplicates as needed.
