Jacket of preference
Have owned two of these jackets over the last 5 years. Worn one out bought another right away. Should by more in case they ever discontinue. Very useful for all types of trips. Used in rain and snow in the rockies. As a wind jacket on Aconcagua several times. And on a very windy summit of Mount Rainier. Combined with a fleece its is all I have really needed. Not just water resistant, waterproof and breaths well. Weights almost nothing for a product of its durability. Plus takes up no space in the pack. Has rendered my older heavier Gortex HH jacket obsolete.

Great jacket
Used to own one but accidentally spilt some DEET on it and it melted... But if you keep it away from DEET you should be good to go! It held up just fine to rain and wind and it was very lightweight and compressible.

Fantastic all-around jacket
The PreCip is a great option for weight- and cash-conscious hikers. Comfortable fit, large pit zips to cut down on heat buildup, and solid wind and water resistance. Very compressible and layers well to adapt from cool spring jogs to icy winter hikes over a fleece.
