Maters Of Stone V is the continued filming exploits of Eric Perlman and features a host of high viz, high angle stone adventurists. Watch Dean Potter pull off a solo speed ascent of El Cap, Steph Davis pout over a mini-fashion crisis, Will Oxx spill over the side of an arctic massif and Perlman's tribute to the late Dan Osman (Metallica fans won't be disappointed!). Overall length of the video is 49 minutes.

Highlights:

  • Potter describing the Moab lifestyle: ".....full white trash, pick-up trucks, barbeques, drinkin' Hamm's beer and slacklinin'"
  • Dan Osman's record static rope jump, off of Leaning Tower, Yosemite
  • And Perlman's selection of artists for the overall video sound track. Gotta love the group 'Cardiff Reefers'!!

Crazy cool. Loved this video, in fact I have had my buddies copy for months now and I am sure he wants it back in the worst way. Worth the cash.

Oh, its the DVD version of this video but I am sure they are the same.

I'm with my fellow gearnerd, Soccerboy, on this one. I got dizzy watching this video and realized how much everyone I know, including myself, sucks at climbing.

I always watch this flic in early spring to motivate myself to get out and climb hard in the spring and summer.

One of the better trad / soloing videos out there. Some of the sections are really great, like watching Stephanie Davis freesolo really long 5.12A and 5.11C fingercracks. Other great sections include Dean Potter on The Nose and trying to free the Tombstone, and Stephanie Davis on Pink Flamingos (5.13B fingercrack). She was also really funny on the segment with what she should wear before freesoloing a 5.12 fingercrack.

Some other the other segments were just ok. I thought the tribute to Dan Osman could have been way better. It was ok, but should have been done like the Derek Hersey tribute in Front Range Freaks instead.

Overall, it was very good, I'd recommend it.

If you're like me, and everyone i've watched this with, and you don't happen to be in Masters of Stone, you will realize that the envelope is being pushed in ways outside your comprehension.

The tribute to Dan Osman could have been done better, but who am i to judge, it's great to watch. Visually stunning

Very good.
As opposed to previous ones - which are just about as exciting as watching grass grow.
