Product Description

I bought this pack in Adventure 16 on sale for about 100 bucks but from what I can tell, it retails for about $140. I own the theta ar, and am thoroughly impressed with it, and I must say that after my most recent trip to Mt. Whitney, this pack has met all my needs. It appears to be very weatherproof. Obviously I wouldn't trust it getting dunked in a river or anything, but as far as rain and snow goes, it seems pretty legit. The shoulder and hip straps a thin, but comfortable. If you are familiar with their harnesses, it looks pretty much the same. I have yet to really load down the pack, but I'm sure it would hold up without losing much comfort. This is the first pack I've seen that incorporates these type of ice axe carrying loops. They are very easy to use, and don't require you to slide the whole thing through; very convenient. The hip pad has a gear loop on each side I am looking forward to trying out. The lid and hip pockets are removable if you are trying to shave some weight. The buckles are advertised as "glove friendly" and are just that, there is no fidgeting with them needed to get them undone. My only gripe is if you have several objects in the lid, it buckles tend to loosen after a lot of moving around, just making it slide a little bit down the pack, but a quick fix to that is just tightening to where you want them and just taping one side, because you can always tighten/loosen the outer side. Overall great pack, once again, great job arc'teryx. I'd recommend this to anyone trying to go light and fast.
