It's all about triangulation!

The unique design of these pieces allows for them to touch the rock in three places, resulting in easy and bombproof gear placement
Based on a traditional angle taper design, the Curve Nut (TM) introduces a new twist--horizontal curves across two faces
By curving the faces, these pieces have opened up many new placement options
Horizontal curves assure you solid triangulation with the additional benefit of placements which are easy to visually monitor
Whether you are building a new rack or adding to your existing gear, the Metolius Curve Nut (TM) will quickly become a staple piece on any route

An all-around solid piece of protection. the shape allows for easy and solid placement with multiple points of contact on the rock. Only con is the color-coated sleeves are bulky, awkward and unefficient when racking, but the color-coating is nice and easy to read.

I like the Curved Nuts very well. Metolius has created just the right head shape for little wonders. They allow an array of placement options and the curved section fits very well in uneven rock. The taper of these nuts and the curve gives a more positive and secure placement. I also find removing these nuts quite easy. These nuts have become the mainstay of my rack.

That being said there are two issues I have found with this protection. One, the plastic on the loop end is large and sticky making racking them quite bulky. Second, the large cable on the smaller pro makes it impossible to place in small cracks. The cable just won’t fit. I now carry a set of peanuts to supplement my rack.

All in all these are great pro. These are my choice for passive protection.

I have 2 complete sets of these. I like the curved nuts as they allow for a wide variety of placement possibilities. The color coded loop makes it easy to grab the right one and know in an instant what you have left on your rack.

I love these nuts. I was a bit skeptical when I first saw them, as I like simple designs (I use forged friends), but the idea grew on me and I picked up a set. After using them once, I was convinced enough to double them up. I drop them into a placement and they are bomber. I put a little more effort into placing them and they're not going anywhere. I do find them a little harder to clean than stoppers, but it's worth it in every way.
