Nicely done

That area is an electrical magnet and you did it the smart way. Congratulations.

Re: Nicely done

Thanks Dean! I seriously contemplated (in the back of my mind) a few days prior if we going to actually be able to summit or not. I cant express how happy and relieved I was to be back at base camp listening to the thunder and rain after the summit.

:)

This was an amazing trip! Thank you, Honey, so much for sharing this with me! This has been one of the HUGEST accomplishments...of my life. Thank you for all of your support on our way down the "toilet bowl" (from hell). I think (KNOW) that "almost in tears" is an understatement. The fear of a broken ankle/leg/tailbone/whatever was pretty overwhelming for me. Not only a broken something, but the thought of a long hike out of there with an injury was nearly unbearable for me at that point...but you helped me trudge thru...thanks!!! :) What a gorgeous trip! I love you tons and tons and TONS! :)

Congrats on the summit.

I have summited King's 10 times now and I will NEVER do the chute (aka toilet bowl) again. It is definitely the most dangerous route on the mountain. I was nearly tagged with a 50+ pound rock in there back in 2003 and I haven't been back up or down that way since. Smart to get up there early. I was weathered off of King's myself this year making an attempt at the Triple Crown (highest 3 peaks in a day) but I got my revenge a month later and made it up all 3 peaks in a day. What an awesome place.

Re: Congrats on the summit.

Thanks! Yeah I have mixed feelings about the toilet bowl. The first time I descended it in 2011 we were the only group on it. This time in 2012 there were allot of people on it, definitely a different experience. That's way cool you did the Triple Crown, congrats! This is a remarkable place, we plan to return for years to come.
