On top of Mt. Sherman

On top of Mt. Sherman

I was able to help my wife fulfill a dream. She wanted to hike a 14er before she had another child. She is about 6 weeks pregnant here, on top of Mt. Sherman. I had carried my son up this mountain the whole way. He walked down the mountain from Hilltop mine down to the car. I was very proud of my family.

Thanks Marc. It was a good day and my son really loves going out hiking with us. He had a really good time.

Re: This is wonderful...

Steve, you probably get asked this a lot, but
WHICH area did you enjoy the most ???

Flagstaff - Phoenix - or Denver (and why?)

Which city I like better...

I actually never have been asked that! I have really been enjoying Denver the most. I love hiking mountains, and being above tree line A LOT. Almost every time I go out it's an all new adventure. In Flagstaff, if I wanted to get above tree line, it was Humphreys peak again. In Phoenix, I loved the winters, the hiking was great in the winter, but the summers killed me. Here, in Denver I find hiking year round, and I have snowshoes. I love the greenery here, which Phoenix lacked, and love being above tree line. I do however miss living in the forest. That I do very much miss about Flagstaff. I always tell people, "I live next to Paradise, I don't live in it." Denver itself I think is ok, but it's living close to the mountains I love.

I agree. Mountains are the "tie that binds"
and the prevailing force to people and members
of this site.

Thanks for answering my question, Steve.

Well done family!

Always a challenge to get the little ones up to these places.
