Mount Lincoln, NV

There is most certainly an older climber's long on the summit of Mount Lincoln, NV. It's in a can with a lid in the rock pile wind screen stucture on top. You have to look for it sometimes, as rocks from the structure fall on to it. My last entry is March, 1991. I recall the earlier entries from others in the '70's.

Traversing from Job Peak is the bunny route. A more challenging and fun route is up the divide between the North Fork and South Fork of Long Canyon. Long Canyon runs into Pete Canyon at Section 19 T20N X R33E. There are a couple of springs up near the head of the South Fork of Long Canyon if you run out of water. Do not run out of water in the Stillwater Range!

The story about the hunter and the dog is true, I know the guy. The "hunter's cabin" is actually a cattle operation line shack. It sits in Freeman's Basin at the head of Big Box Canyon to the north of Job Peak.

Watch for rattlesnakes after March into early November. Everything else in your feature is right on. Happy climbing.
