I counted at least 8 pictures of people on the summit. The mountain is very often climbed, so I think there is a need for a specific section on the page where all these pictures are arranged and new ones can be posted. (like on the Mera Peak page)

As far as I`m aware there is no need to cross any glacier to get to Island Peak base camp from Chukung.

overview needs some corrections

Thanks for the nice overview, but it needs some corrections and update:

1) The term "trekking peak" can be misleading as in fact most of 14 or so mountains given this title by the Nepalese government
As Dmiki said, there are now 33 "trekking peaks in Nepal"

2) Eric Shipton's party of 1952 named the mountain Island Peak
I guess it was 1951

3) The mountain was first climbed in 1953 by a team in preparation for the ascent of Everest.
First ascent in 1956 by the Swiss Everest expedition. The 1953 British Everest party reached the SW summit, but not the main peak.

4) Lhotse Middle Peak (8,410m), as yet still unclimbed
First ascent in 2001 by a Russian team

5) Everest link
The link to Everest leads to a picture, but not to the mountain page

6) http://www.summitpost.org/images/thumb/9720.jpg
The link seems broken

A few other important corrections for the other chapters:

a) Chapter about Maoist insurrection: outdated, should be removed
b) Permit: 350 USD
c) As Dimki wrote, no need to cross any glacier between Chukhung and BC.
