Two nice things...

about this route:

(a) No false summit - what you see is what you get.
(b) The lower/horizontal portion of the ridge is surprisingly cool in winter - very knife-like with fun exposure and you can easily walk on the crest the whole way.

On another note, it sounds like your route description has the climber avoid the horizontal part of the ridge on the ascent. This is most likely not advisable in winter due to avalanche danger and misses the coolest part of the route.
