Winter access

It's a great day trip by ski from Russell Pond. Ski to Turner Deadwater, and pick up the old logging road. Great grades and conditions, gradually ascending. Need to cross the stream which is usually pretty frozen (have done this trip 2x) At an obvious point after getting into boulders, ditch the skis and snowshoe up. Gets steep up to Davis. Trail bears vertically left to get to the ponds, easy to get lost if snow deep enough to lose blazes. Otherwise circle right around hill through brush, etc.

Skiing back to Russell is unforgettably divine.
