Northern Beechfern (Phegopteris connectilis)

Northern beechfern is a circumboreal species that extends south to much of the eastern U.S. and a few places in the northwest states. Habitats are moist cliffs crevices and woods. It has formerly been known as Thelypteris phegopteris. This photo was taken in Minnesota. June 2000
