Don't let the fact that this was his first 14er mislead you. My friend is an experienced (5th Class) rope climber and has summited a few 5th Class 13er routes. I don't think you are correct in calling him foolish, nor would I be stupid enough to bring someone up this peak who wasn't qualified! I have summited nearly 90 peaks, thanks for reading the TR!
