I hiked or ran this dozens and dozens of times in the years I taught in El Sobrante (2010-2015). It is one of my all-time favorite trail runs--great prominence and absolutely gorgeous around sunset. Views of the western sun are unmatched from anywhere else in the bay. Don't believe me? Try it and see. It's best to go when it's green.

Clark Road TH
Up, up, up and down, and up it goes from the end of Clark Road in El Sobrante. A wonderful morning walk on a weekday with the hill to meself, save for a handful of 'ol Bessys (cows) I shared the road with on the way up the last bump to 1057. What a glorious view of the Golden Gate, Mt. Tam, and all the way around to Mt. Diablo.

Abbreviated 6 mile loop
Took the Wildcat Canyon Trail for about a mile until it got past a deep ravine then busted up the slopes before the Mezue Trail out of bordom. Over the hills then back on the Mezue Trail to the 1,057'. Then back via the San Pablo and Belgum trails. Great late day hike!
