GreatEverest photo - seen from this side the Nuptse Lhotse ridge often covers most of it.

Yes, you get a really outstanding view of Mount Everest from Renjo La Pass (5.340 masl) wich is situated just above Gokyo.
As you mentioned, you see much more of Everest from Renjo La compared to the view from Kala Pathar and the trekk there is absolutely fantastic; Remote and overwhelmingly beautiful!
