Fast start for a 9-year oldMatthew is well on his way to climbing all the fourteeners, if he's already doing Wetterhorn at age 9. I'm glad his family is into this activity together - reminds me of the family I grew up in.

Re: Fast start for a 9-year oldYeah, definitely a family activity. Matthew's activities are strictly monitored including what he's allowed to watch on TV. He also plays little league soccer and they all go skiing as well--usually at Telluride.
They've lived in Montrose since Aug '98, but the love for the mountains Mark & I have goes all the way back to our time as kids in the 60's. After Mark & Cyd began dating he got her hooked on it as well, and after that they made many trips to Colorado until making the decision to move there. They did Elbert on the 4th of July 2004.

Great!It's great to see young children summiting! I wish my parents had gotten me into this instead of me stumbling onto it in my late twenties.
