You know ...I worked @ GCNP back in the day.
You never try to feed a mule an apple, because if you do it might take off your hand.
Those things can get a bit moody.

Re: You know ...I hiked the South Kaibab to the river and back last Thursday, 1/11. The trail is a mess. I can see the regress from year to year. Holes and frozen mud. Difficult to take a step. going down is as hard as going up. I got pictures but I don't have the heart to upload them. I think those mule trains ruin the trails very badly. I ran into two mule trains on S Kaibab and one on River Trail. Disaster. Even in the cool 28 degrees I could smell the piss and dung. I think I'm done with hiking/running the GC for a while. And when you think that I wanted to relocate to Flagstaff to join the ranges at the GC.
