The reason we were hiking up this moonscape was due to the fact that the mountain you see in this picture lost several thousand feet of its top when it blew up. 9-21-03

Yup

Although even then it wouldn't have been necessary except for some rather silly "rules" that were made for a very different situation. We both had, after all, actually visited the highest point in Skamania County all those many years before. But be that as it may...
