Mt. Rolo (8,096 ft) as seen...

Mt. Rolo (8,096 ft) as seen from near Lake Doris to the NNE on August 19, 2001. It was an attractive peak and I am mildly bummed I did not climb it on my way out from the Osceola Peak area. The ridge on skyline right extends up from Freds Pass and would probably be no harder than class 2 or class 3.

Rolo

I climbed the ridge in question yesterday. As you guessed, it ranges between class 2 and 3, with exposure near the summit. The rock is more solid than that of the Lago/Carru/Osceola group. One of Fay's summit registers revealed that it sees and average of two ascents a year. There were no signatures in 2009 or 2010.
