Re: IncredibleThanks! I had never seen that phenomenon either. I've seen similar views, but not this effect. It seemed to be caused by being at the exactly correct elevation - the point of the inversion. It was definitely colder below that elevation, and warmer above. I was very lucky to see and capture this view. -Bob

Re: QuestionI can't find the info you want. I don't think anyone knows for sure.The only thing I did find was that the last eruptive period for Hood ended shortly before the arrival of Lewis & Clark in 1805. Click here and scroll down to Mount Hood.
