Mine GulchIt's over 4500 ft down to Mine Gulch from Baden-Powell. It's awesome to be in Mine Gulch and look up at Baden-Powell summit when there is a snow pack on it.

Pine Mtn. RidgeOne more thing, Vic... Pine Mtn Ridge from the summit of Pine to the trail/road--or through Little Fish Fork, then across the divide and down the road--to Columbine Campground, is a wonderful hike through some of the wildest remaining high-country wilderness in the San Gabriels. The problem is that the new Sheep Mountain Wilderness boundary on Blue Ridge precludes driving to Columbine to retrieve a car--making for a very long hike with a lot more gain (about 3000').
