A Little About Me

I was born & raised in Northern California. I started skiing & camping with my Dad & brother in The Sierra during the late sixties. I've enjoyed the mountains ever since. I began climbing in 82 while in college. A classmate, an old girlfriend, & myself went out and bought ice axes & crampons & just started climbing mountains. I've climbed mostly in The Sierra, but have made several road trips to The Cascades. I've planned, organized, & led 4 successful foreign climbing trips, & one not so successful, that have included the following: Mexico, (Iztzaccihuatl & El Pico de Orizaba), Ecuador, ( Tungurahua & Cotopaxi), Argentina, (Aconcagua), Bolivia, Where we were all sick little puppies! (Bad stomach viruses!), & Tanzania (Mt. Meru & Kilimanjaro). My formal training includes the following courses: 2-day basic & 5-day glacier mountaineering, 2-day level 1 avalanche, 3-day winter mountaineering, 1-day crevasse rescue & glacier travel, 1-day avalanche beacon, 2-day beginning rock climbing, 4-day intermediate rock climbing, & 3-day lead climbing.
Partner Details: I'm thinking about a trip to Russia & Kyrgyzstan, to climb Mt. Elbrus (18,510ft.) & Peak Lenin (23,406ft.), sometime in the future. If interested or have suggestions, feel free to contact me.
