Re: brain bucket

Thanks Brian.

Yeah, new helmet but unfortunately the same old disfunctional/twisted brain. The old one was falling apart and was beginning to really stink (the helmet that is.....though same could be said for my brain).

Long live the old black Kong!

(What is it now, a new dog dish for Blondie?)

Re: brain bucket

That thing is so beat up and so smelly that even Blondie looks on it with disgust (and that says a lot coming from someone who considers horse and duck sh..'s to be a delicacy :)

knots

I once led a friend up this, and he fell right about here. I was up where I couldn't see him, so I patiently waited while he pulled himself back on and continued. He had been out of climbing for about 5 years. He fell a second time, but eventually got past it. When he climbed up into view, I saw that the tail of his tie-in knot was sticking out the side of the knot. He'd never finished tying his figure-8. He still had his hands full, and it wouldn't help to have him puking all over the route, so I didn't tell him until he reached the belay.

Be careful, and watch your buddies.

Gorgeous pic, by the way, Radek.

Re: knots

That story makes me feel like upchucking. Good to hear that the thing did not come undone!!

Thank you very much for the kind word Eric.

Bob...

Eric and I led a climbing friend up this, I led the lower pitch and Eric led the upper with Bob in between us. Bob followed up this after Eric and fell just past where this photo was taken. He dropped below the overhang (suspended by the rope) with his eyes bugging out. He then grabbed the rock just at the bottom of the overhang and muscled his way back up to a rest position, just like Captain Granitic, I was impressed. He then went to make the easy moves up to Eric and dropped a second time, flailing like a fish on a gaff. This time he didn't have the strength to make the overhang and I had to help pull him up onto the ledge. Bob was finished for the rest of the day.
