Who needs crampons or an axe...
Who needs crampons or an axe when you can just kick steps? Tuckerman Ravine is probably the most popular backcountry skiing area in New England and is often mentioned in national ski magazines. Most people just hike up in their alpine ski gear for some steep fun. On April 25, 1999, I just climbed up one of the many gullies on the north side where I was able to take this shot.
