Here's irony on an iron ore...

Here's irony on an iron ore heap of a peak: the register for this seldom-climbed summit is one of the most extravagant you'll find in the Cascades. A large metal Mazama box (size of two lunchpales side-by-side) contains a diary-like notebook of some 60 paper pages. I signed in on page 33. You can't really read the entries here, but what I'm pointing to on page 30 are the names of the Jung Climbing Machine (Jim, Susan, Roger, and David). These friends of mine climbed the peak two years before me. In that two years, only 11 parties had made the ascent (or bothered to make the ascent). In actuality, a lot of climbers march right past the base of Boston en route to Buckner's North Face Route but they don't give a second thought to climbing it. July 29, 2000.

Boston Peak

Registers are cool. Thanks for posting. I've been up Sahale twice, should make Boston part of the list.
