Heading down from the summit of Rainier. This pic taken at about 13000 feet level and you can see Little Tahoma in the background and the top of DC to the left. 8-9-69 (Slide film - Kodacrome 25 scanned to digital ) Note the pre helmet aspect of this era.

I like it ...

What grabs me is how much snow there is. Do you remember the Whittiker brothers? They inspired me to climb Rainier in Aug. 1984. No helmets, either.

I'm learning how to USE a hp-scanner. I'm NOT going to let the cyber-worms DEFEAT ME. Thanks, DEAN!

Re: I like it ...

Lou Whittaker was the main man on my trip along with Ira Spring. I spent five days with a photography seminar with a climb to the summit as the main highlight. Here's the Trip report if you want to read ancient history. Thanks Larry for your comments (as always) and your vote. Good luck with your scanner experience, it took me awhile to get reasonable results. I look forward to seeing your 84 stuff. I'd love to hear more about your 84 climb (sans helmet).
