Overview
Montagne de Lure is a very smooth mountain separating Alps and Provence. The montain is 35 Km long, but this is the only dimension that can be used to compare Montagne de lure to Mont Blanc range... The north side is steeper than the south one. The Nature and it's wildeness has been preserved here.

Alors un beau matin, sans rien dire, la colline me haussa sur sa plus belle cime, elle écarta ses chênes et ses pins, et Lure m'apparut au milieu du lointain pays. Elle était vautrée comme une taure dans une litière de brumes bleues."

Untitled CommentIf anyone would wish to approach with a human touch this mountain and the inner Provence region, there is a compulsory cultural travel to be made through Jean Giono (Manosque, 1895-1970) many books. He was a son of this land and perhaps its best literary symbol. Mind to this : the Mediterranean shore has nothing to do with Provence, it is another world......
