Pain de Sucre (Monte Pan di Zucchero) is one of the easiest and more accessible summit higher than 3000m in the Alps. The mountain belongs to Queyras region . The mountain is very close to Agnel pass (2744m) accessible by car during summer. This is one off the highest road in the Alps.
The summit is situated on the French/Italien border. This is not the main summit of Asti group - Aiguillette (3287m) and Pic d'Asti (3220m).
Pain de Sucre ascend is a direct ascend ont he pyramid. The view from the summit is very nice most of the Alps from Agentera to Bernina and more are visible when the atmosphere is clear. The direct line distance from Pain de Sucre to Monviso is 8km.

Difficulty: For good hikers, by nice weather -take care when the summit is in fog -"nebbia" from italy .
Start point, Parking (2600 m) on the Agnel pass road, 500m after Agnel hut
Mid point, Col Vieux, 2806m (on a path, 45min)
To summit: Pain de Sucre 3208m (direct on summit pyramid, 1h15min)
