I love those small mountains because they are my Hausberge (house mountains). That's what we call the mountains you can do in day or two starting from home. Living in Munich, my Hausberge are basically the Northern Alps between Lechtal and Berchtesgaden. Among those the Bayerische Voralpen are the really small ones. At least they provide perfect views of the more impressive limestone face of Wetterstein, Karwendel and so on.
