The approach to Falketind is quite long, crossing of some snow-fields (steep and exposed), slab in Morka-Koldedalen valley might be difficult. Some parts of the route cross a glacier.

Getting There
Road E16 to Tyinkrysset crossing. (you can follow E16 from Oslo as well as Bergen – opposite directions.)
From Tyinkrysset follow Road 252 (gravel road) from Tyin to Eidsbugarden.
The road is open from mid June to mid October.
From Tyinholmen it is possible to drive on a construction road towards Koldedalen valley.
.Route The rigde leading to the summit
From lake Koldedalsvatnet, follow the path leading west up to a lake (marked 1291 on the map). Along the northside of the lake, and a bit above the water the path continues. After a while you need to cross a snow-field. An iceaxe might come in handy at this point.
Follow Lake Andrevatnet until you cross the river from Stølsnosbreen glacier. Walk upwards on the left side of the river. You'll cross some slab, and it's not easy to find the path at all times. Be careful if it's wet or icey.
When you're past the steep part, you'll see the glacier. You might follow the glacier if you have the right equipement (crampons, iceaxe, rope) or just walk besides it on the right side.
When you approach the top, follow the ridge from the north side.
Enjoy the view, and follow the same route on your way back.
Other routes are possible with some climbing.
Camping Our campsite below Falketind, at sunset
Camping allowed. Not closer than 150 meters from houses or huts.
We found a nice campsite at the southern end of lake 1291. There also some good sites where you cross the river.
